Post-construction cleaning

Construction dust gets into everything and settles three times before it stops. Rough, final and touch-up cleans that get a space from hand-over to move-in ready.

What Is Included

What the scope actually covers

No vague line items. This is what gets done, and what we will put in writing.

Rough clean

After the trades are largely out: debris removal, sweeping, swarf and offcut clearance, and a first pass so the space is safe to work in and inspect.

Final clean

The detailed pass. All surfaces wiped top to bottom, fixtures and fittings cleaned, labels and adhesive residue removed from glass and appliances, paint specks scraped from floors and glazing, inside cabinetry and drawers, light fittings and vents.

Touch-up clean

Right before handover or opening, after the inevitable last visits from trades. This is the one that decides whether a walkthrough passes first time.

Dust containment

Vents, returns and sills cleaned, because construction dust keeps resettling from them for weeks if they are skipped.

Glass and frames

Stickers, tape residue and overspray removed from windows and doors without scratching the glass.

Floor finishing

New hard floors cleaned of installation residue and, where specified, sealed or finished before anyone walks on them.

Restroom and kitchen commissioning

Fixtures polished, protective film removed, everything brought to a usable standard.

How Often

Getting the frequency right

Project-based. The three-stage rough, final and touch-up sequence is standard on fit-outs and new builds. Small renovations often only need the final and touch-up stages. Book the touch-up as late as your programme allows, because anything cleaned before the last trade leaves gets dirty again.

Pricing

What drives the price

Anyone quoting before seeing the space is guessing. These are the things that actually move the number.

  • Square footage and how many floors or units
  • Build type, since a restaurant fit-out is far more involved than an open-plan office
  • How much debris the contractor leaves behind
  • Whether high-level access is needed for ceilings and fittings
  • Programme pressure, as compressed timelines mean bigger crews

FAQ

Questions we get asked

Straight answers, including when the answer is that you do not need this.

When should we schedule the final clean?
After the last trade is genuinely finished, not when the programme says they should be. Cleaning before a final round of snagging means paying twice. If the dates are uncertain, book the final clean and hold a touch-up slot a few days later.
Do you remove construction debris?
We handle cleaning debris, dust, packaging, offcuts and general site mess. Skip-scale demolition waste and anything requiring licensed disposal is your contractor's responsibility, and we will be clear about where that line sits before we start.
How is this priced?
Usually per square foot by stage, because the three stages are very different amounts of work. Give us the drawings or a walkthrough and the programme dates and we will quote each stage separately so you can see what you are buying.
